Call for insights on family violence and renting

VCOSS is preparing an insights paper on family violence and renting and want to hear from members. The 2021 changes to the Residential Tenancies Act introduced specific protections for victim survivors of family violence, but a key insight that frontline workers shared for our 2023 Renting in Victoria report was that victim-survivors are still facing persistent barriers to rental fairness. VCOSS is keen to use this insights paper as an opportunity to delve deeper and identify where we need to go in terms of future reforms and policy solutions.

If you are a VCOSS member and work with victim survivors who are renting, please email VCOSS Housing and Justice Policy Advisor Ella Longhurst to set up a time to chat.
